Girl's night...what more can I say, it was long overdue...

Climb Every Mountain...

...and that we did.
Opening night, my family and friends were able to see the production of "Sound of Music," as part of Sundance Summer Theater. With Mt. Timpanogos as the backdrop, we sat and watched the stage production. My totally awesome mother was the musical director and choreographer this year and I was thrilled to pieces to see her work. (It doesn't hurt that the Sound of Music is pretty much one of my favorite movies of all time.) Did I mention that you get to sing along? Oh yeah. Good times. Nothing jerks a tear quite like a singing nun. The cast and crew did such an amazing job and as I know it, every single show has sold out. Well done.

So long, farewell, auf wiedersehen, goodbye...

Puppy Love...

Our little pup is growing up and we simply cannot get enough of her. It seems as though every man, women, and child in the neighborhood knows her name. A ring of the doorbell is often times one of the neighborhood kids asking if they can take Alfie for a walk. Well it was our turn; the beautiful August day was asking for it. She seriously loves walks, and heaven knows we need the exercise. What's funy is that it's really hard not to talk in this annoyingly high pitched voice when we talk to her. And it's really hard to look at her big brown eyes and not want to squeeze her to pieces. It doesn't help that her ears look like pigtails.

Wood Paneling.

It's true. I am guilty...caught red handed. I seriously love it. For that, I should probably be shot. It falls under my guilty pleasure category alongside the Bachelorette, N*sync, glitter eyeshadow, Facebook stalking, Twinkies, and Edward Cullen.

So...Now you know all of my deep, dark secrets. But I'm pretty sure you're nodding your head in agreement right now. No worries...there's no shame in this. In fact, I'd love to see you add to the list. Come on, make Nickelback proud.

Sundancing...

This last Friday a miracle happened. I didn't have to work, Mom didn't have to work, and Kaylie, well, didn't have to work! It was glorious. We hardly ever have a day just to oursleves so we set our flag in the earth and declared it a Girls' Day. We spent it up at the beautiful Sundance Resort where we ate way too much and laughed way too hard. After a most scenic ride on the ski lift, we spent the evening listening to some of Nashville's most respected and talented singer/songwriters at the Bluebird Cafe. I cried, I cuddled, and I couldn't have imagined being anywhere else. Thank you Sundance for making our girl's day a memory we won't soon forget.
