Divine Surprise
It's no wonder that Easter happens when it does. Only after a seemingly endless Winter, does the flower bloom and grow. I don't believe this to be a coincidence. Take the Easter egg for example. It is an ancient symbol for new life and, as I discovered, also represents Christ's emergence from the tomb and resurrection. It has been said that on Easter day, the veil between time and eternity thins to gossamer. A new birth. A new life. That is what Easter represents. It is the triumph of life over death.
Thomas S. Monson said this, "Our Savior lived again. The most glorious, comforting and reassuring of all events of human history had taken place - the victory over death. The pain and agony of Gethsemane and Calvary had been wiped away. The salvation of mankind had been secured. The Fall of Adam had been reclaimed.
"No words in Christendom mean more to me than those spoken by the angel to the weeping Mary Magdalene and the other Mary when, on the first day of the week, they approached the tomb to care for the body of their Lord. Spoke the Angel:
Why seek ye the living among the dead? He is not here, but is RISEN."

Grasshopper Good Time (Superhero Name)
So...remember that one time when I wrote about how I wanted to be a talk show host? Well, I finally got around to doing my first interview. Lindsey Stirling, my good friend and hip hop violinist, volunteered her witty banter for the project.
For some reason, making a YouTube video (an important step to reaching my goal) was this big scary monster that I managed to maneuver around for the past month. I kept making excuses as to why I couldn't get it done, when in reality I was scared like a tiny, wet Chihuahua, shaking in the corner of a dark room. Sound pathetic? Well it was. Finally I came to my senses and enrolled my friend Doug to give me some much needed motivation. If I didn't complete my video in less than a week, I would have to pick my nose and eat the result in front of a group of our friends. Humiliation/Motivation? I like to think so.
Here is the result. My first video:
Sure, I need to do about 30 more of these to get the hang of it. Sure, there's about 232 things I need to work on. But it felt amazing finally watching my video on the YouTube. There will be more to come. And I'm excited. It is what it is...and I is a Talk Show Host.

You spin me right round, baby
I remember when I was little, my parents had a turntable along with a massive amount of records. I don't know what became of it, or the records, but I've decided I'm bringin' it back and trying one out for myself. I can only imagine the joy that having a record player would bring into my life. In my mind's eye, I see a hot Summer's day, a light breeze, a tummy full of "healthy" snacks, and the subtle drone of a melody sounding from my very own "talking machine."
Validation:
First of all, they're just cool. Secondly, they're believed to provide a richer sound. Thirdly, they're cute. Heck, sounds good to me.

My Beautiful Mother...
Today marks the day when my mother came into the world. I speak for everyone when I say that I'm sure glad she did.
(Performing...legs...)
I don't know where I would be without her. Actually I do, and I know I wouldn't be here. I wouldn't be who I am. This woman has known no fear. She has raised four children and managed to have a career of her own. She's an artist, a teacher, a performer, a friend, a creator, a visionary, a pioneer, and most importantly...a mother. So today I celebrate the woman that I am blessed to learn from and can hope to be like.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
